Confirm the exact device first

This page summarizes the United States Zepbound prescribing information checked on October 10, 2026. Compare the device wording below with your carton. Other markets and later labels may differ. Use the current instructions supplied with your product.

Manufacturer labeling summary

  • Single-dose pen or vial: refrigerate at 2–8°C; unrefrigerated at no more than 30°C for a total of 21 days, then discard.
  • Multi-dose vial or KwikPen: unopened, refrigerate at 2–8°C or discard after 30 days at room temperature (up to 30°C). After opening, the label permits 2–8°C or up to 30°C; discard at the earliest of 30 total room-temperature days, 30 days after first use, or four weekly doses.
  • Do not freeze or use if frozen; protect from heat/light in the original carton.

Our practical reading checklist

This checklist is our editorial way to organize the label, not an additional manufacturer rule:

  1. Write down the brand and device description exactly as printed.
  2. Identify whether the applicable condition is before first use or after first use.
  3. Record the printed expiry and relevant first-use or room-temperature dates. If more than one limit applies, identify which arrives first using the label or pharmacy's help.
  4. Keep a record of any uncertain temperature exposure to discuss with the pharmacy or manufacturer.

Can refrigeration restart a time allowance?

Do not infer a new allowance from placing a product back in a refrigerator. Use the wording in the exact device label, especially whether it counts total time or time after first use. For an interrupted or undocumented temperature history, ask the pharmacy or manufacturer rather than guessing from this summary.

What if the package arrived warm or was frozen?

The calculator cannot assess product integrity. Provide the pharmacy with the device, duration, temperatures if known, and packaging details. Do not use a numerical conversion result as evidence that an exposed product remains usable.

Does this apply to compounded tirzepatide?

No. A pharmacy-compounded product is a separate formulation with its own written instructions. Read compounded storage and the tirzepatide storage overview.

Does storage information explain syringe units?

Storage and measurement are separate issues. A branded pen is used according to its own device instructions. The unit guide explains arithmetic but does not authorize transferring a pen's contents or converting pen clicks.
